Commission Partners Who are GREAT COMMISSION PARTNERS? GREAT COMMISSION PARTNERS are individuals, groups and congregations who support ministries of their choice above and beyond mission support .In an era of diminishing support, your commitment as a GREAT COMMISSION PARTNER can make planting new congregations and redeveloping existing congregations a reality. In the Southeastern Synod, a GREAT COMMISSION PARTNER is one who is united with others who:
We know God calls us to be disciples and to share the gospel. We see this happen first-hand at the congregational level. Mission support (benevolence) is your congregation’s contribution through the Southeastern Synod for synod, national and global ministries. Mission support is used to fund to ELCA national and global ministries such as the ELCA Division for Global Mission, the ELCA Division for Outreach, theological seminaries and continuing education centers, Lutheran colleges, campus ministries active in universities and colleges, outdoor and camping ministries, Lutheran Services in America, Lutheran World Relief, ecumenical ministries, Lutheran Disaster Response, the ELCA World Hunger Appeal, and many others. However, the ministries in the Southeastern Synod cannot be implemented through congregational mission support alone. Additional funds, above and beyond individual and congregational mission support are needed. Become a GREAT COMMISSION PARTNER and support existing ministries and congregations in the Southeastern Synod while allowing new congregations to be planted in our synod.

Your name and/or the name of your group or congregation can be added to a growing list of partners around the Southeastern Synod who agree to be contacted for specific needs for congregations within our synod and the ELCA. The privacy of those who participate in the PARTNER FUND LIST is respected and the list is not shared for other purposes. List members are typically contacted 4 times annually. The Southeastern Synod PARTNER FUND LIST was inspired by ELCA Mission Partners (see www.elca.org/outreach/missionpartners). Those on the PARTNER FUND LIST are contacted at the request of one of the five synod Commissions (Leadership, Multicultural Ministries, Planting Congregations, Resources and Transforming Congregations) when: a. a new congregation is organized in the Southeastern Synod (Celebration Partners); b. circumstances require funds for a special congregational project for an established congregation in the Southeastern Synod, such as rebuilding after a natural disaster (Ministry Partners); or c. support of a mission congregation is needed in the Southeastern Synod or throughout the ELCA.(ELCA Mission Partners).
