A Living Lutheran Legacy & The Troutman-Gordy Atrium

A Living Lutheran Legacy is a partnership between the ELCA Southeastern Synod and St. John's, Atlanta, GA.  More specifically, it represents the Synod's move of its offices to St. John's.  In September 2017 the Southeastern Synod office moved into temporary space at St. John's.  On Saturday, March 10, Bishop Gordy and leaders from St. John's officially broke ground on the construction of the the new office space!  See more photos from the Groundbreaking here.

Watch the video below to learn more about how this partnership will benefit the Southeastern Synod and how you can be a part of it!

A Living Lutheran Legacy honors Bishop Troutman and Bishop Gordy

Both the Southeastern Synod and St. John’s are especially excited that the new addition which will be built as part of the new Synod office will be named the Troutman-Gordy Atrium!   The Rev. Dr. Gerald S. Troutman (left) served as a pastor at St. John’s and as bishop of the LCA Southeastern Synod.

The Rev. H. Julian Gordy (right) served as an intern at St. John’s and now serves in his second term as bishop of the ELCA Southeastern Synod. Both have been beloved leaders who have inspired and encouraged us as people of faith. We are thrilled to be honoring them in this way and formally marking their legacy in our life as church together.

To date, thanks to the generosity of many of our congregations and individuals around the synod, we have raised $600,000 toward estimated construction costs of just under $1 million.  Your gifts today can help us continue to offset the costs and honor the work of Bishops Troutman and Gordy!  Click the "Give Now" button below to make a donation using a check or credit card.  One-time gifts and three year pledges are welcome!
