TWO important ways to help TODAY!

1 - Help with muck outs, clean ups and rebuilds!

WE NEED VOLUNTEERS ready to go to disaster sites and help with the clean-up and the rebuild in Newnan, GA, Waverly TN, Hattiesburg, MS and Laurel, MS. If you can volunteer and even better bring friends to volunteer along with you, please contact Pastor Morgan Gordy at pmgordy@elca-ses.org.

 

2 - Another way to volunteer for disaster response:  Listening Line Ministry!

Going through disaster recovery can be hard and frustrating.  People often wait months and sometimes years before they have the needed volunteers, money and supplies to put their home back together. During this time some get discouraged and need encouragement and support. They need someone to listen and check in on them as they wait.

This is a ministry that is perfect for our Stephen Ministers and our Listening Ministers already serving in their communities. You don’t have to travel – everything is done from your phone.

We are looking for some volunteers who would be willing to make phone call check-ins on people who are waiting for their homes to be recovered.   No disaster response experience is needed.  Time tailored to your availability.
