Greetings! My name is Allison Lizdas and I am the new Assistant to the Bishop for Advocacy and I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself: I am a lifelong Lutheran and I am married to Dan who works at Coca Cola. We have two children and two rescue dogs. Matteus (22) is a recent graduate of Georgia State, and Ellie (20) is a junior year at Berry College. My family is passionate about mission work, including working with ILAG and MILAGRO and orphans in Zambia.
Prior to my call as Assistant to the Bishop, I served as Director of Lay Ministries at Lutheran Church of the Resurrection (LCR) in Marietta, GA. I have served in a variety of volunteer roles, including helping to plan the Southeastern Synod’s Guatemala Gala. I have also served on LCR’s congregation council as secretary, taught both adult and children’s Sunday school, and led the small group ministry. Additionally, I held numerous leadership roles in the PTA of my children’s schools.
I graduated from Penn State with a degree in Accounting and received my Master’s in Education from the University of Hartford. Before having children, I taught middle school. In my spare time, I love to knit, read, and travel.
