The Deacon Intern for Wellness will serve the Southeastern Synod and other synods in Region 9 from June to November 2023. The focus areas of her ministry will be care and wellness for Rostered Ministers; yoga, movement, wellness for congregations, children, youth, young adults, women; exploration of Southeastern Synod congregational social services; wellness grant writing; among other things. She will also partner with the Viriginia and North Carolina Synods in wellness.
D'Etta Broam is a retired elementary school educator and a current student at Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary of Lenoir-Rhyne University in the Master of Arts in Christian Ministry program. She is a life-long Lutheran and current member of Pisgah Lutheran in Lexington, SC. She is certified in yoga instruction at the 200 hours level and also has her 95-hour certificate for Children Yoga Teaching. D'Etta is also enrolled in East Coast Yoga Therapy's 800-hour yoga therapist training. She loves stories, songs, yoga, movement and play! She loves to share Children Sermons and teach Christian education and faith formation for people taller than her. She is courageous to wear colorful shoes and CRAZY hats. She hears God's call to make the world a better place . . . one thought, one smile, one act of kindness at a time! D'Etta is celebrating her 10th year as the owner operator of "ZipaDeeBee, LLC: books, bodies, and brains" to encourage others to be their best selves, discovering balance in mind, body, heart and LIGHT. "SHINE ON!" D'Etta is married and has four children.
