Church historian, professor, and author Justo L. González's book will lead us through an eye-opening journey through the Bible, helping us read our familiar sacred text with a renewed experience from a particular community. While there is immense diversity in the lived realities of latin-ness (latinidades), there is also a richness in the varieties of social-historical-cultural-contextual interpretations of scripture. González invites readers into a personal and community approach to reading the Bible through Hispanic-Latino eyes, highlighting common themes like: marginality, poverty, mestizaje, exiles, and solidarity as several key lenses. This book is full of epiphanies, new perspectives, and deep meaning. González writes, "I trust that through [this book] the reader will gain some new insights, not only into what the Latino Christian community has to say, but also into what the Bible itself has to say!"
