We are excited to invite Pr. Drew Tucker (University Pastor at Capitol University and author), as our presenter at this year’s Conference Caucus Day on Sunday, March 26th at 3:00 pm ET / 2:00 pm CT to present on "Vocation as Formation."
Workshop: VOCATION and FORMATION (with Pr. Drew Tucker)
We often imagine formation as a part of vocation; we are formed with certain knowledge or skills for particular vocations, like careers, family, or citizenship. Certainly, that is true. It's also true that, through our vocations, we are formed into the image and likeness of God. Genesis tells us that this work begins at Creation, while 2 Corinthians reminds us that formation is not a one-time event, but a process, as we are constantly being transformed into the image of Christ Jesus. This workshop will explore the dynamic relationship between Christian vocation and faith formation, as well as emphasize the distinction between our identities and our vocations, by introducing practical resources that individuals and congregations can easily implement.
Following our program, attendees can meet with their conference caucus to elect Conference leadership, elect Synod Council representatives for Conferences 1-5, and discuss ministry opportunities together. This meeting will be held on zoom
Conference Representatives to Synod Council for election are as follows:- Conference 1 will elect a Lay Member. The Rev. Andrea Windsor-Peterson is not eligible for re-election.
- Conference 2 will elect a Rostered Minister. Mr. David Haigler is not eligible for re-election.
- Conference 3 will elect a Lay member. The Rev. Beverly Brown Shaw is not eligible for re-election.
- Conference 4 will elect a Rostered Minister. This conference is currently vacant.
- Conference 5 will elect a Rostered Minister. Ms. Sharon Bost is not eligible for re-election.
- Conferences 6-9 can meet to elect conference leadership.
