Camp Sunday in February - Novus Way

Our Synod recognizes the month of February for NovusWay Camp Sunday emphasis. Your congregation can choose any Sunday during the month of February. Did you know people who attended a faith-based camp as a child or teenager have stronger connections to the church as an adult? Our synod values camp because of the positive impact it has on the lives of those who attend.
 
We invite all our congregations to celebrate Camp Sunday by ordering your supplies today! Our goal is for 80% of our congregations to celebrate Camp Sunday. It is easy and NovusWay staff will take care of everything. Click this link to order your materials now.

Ignite the Church Conference 2020

Tuesday, February 11 2020 to Thursday, February 13 2020

Are you looking for a continuing ed event to inspire, encourage & challenge your ministry? Would Florida in February be a blessing?

Consider attending the Ignite the Church Conference in Orlando, Florida, February 11-13. In addition to 4 large group gatherings with talks and panel discussions on topics related to Congregational Vitality, there will be 12 intensive electives on a wide range of important topics like Reaching Younger Generations, Expanding Kingdom Impact, Church Renewal and Discipleship, Renewing Music, Vitality through Mission, Engaging Your Neighborhood, Evangelism, Social Justice, and Raising Up and Equipping Leaders. There will also be a field trip to Orlando's Castle Church Brewing Community, one of the ELCA’s newest and most unique mission starts.

The $99 Super Early Bird registration rate includes 2 meals and snacks when you register by November 30th. Rates increase to $109 in December and $129 in January. 75 Leaders from 20 states attended last year's gathering.
All conference proceeds are donated to the ELCA Fund for Leaders. Last year's gift totaled $2500.

National Lutheran Choir at Redeemer Lutheran - Atlanta

"So Much to Sing About" performed by the National Lutheran Choir. 

The Church sings because there is so much to sing about, and singing is the deepest way to embody the sacred story we share. The Minnesota based National Lutheran Choir sings this sacred and spiritual story in a way that is guaranteed to soothe your soul. This eclectic program, led by Artistic Director, David Cherwien, will feature choral works by Felix Mendelssohn and Ralph Vaughan Williams set alongside new arrangements of familiar tunes, including Kenneth Dake's “Sweet Hour of Prayer”.

Region 9 Ministers of Word and Service Gathering

Monday, March 02 2020 to Wednesday, March 04 2020

A Region 9 Ministers of Word and Service Gathering is planned for March 02-04, 2020. The Gathering will be held at Lutheranch in Tallapoosa, GA. All Ministers of Word and Service as well as current candidates are invited to attend this event. 

The theme of this event is "Moving Forward in Christ." Our Gathering will consist of worship, keynotes, study, fellowship, and rest.  

We are excited that The Rev. Kevin L. Strickland, Bishop of the Southeastern Synod, and Dr. Mindy Makant, Associate Professor of Religious Studies at Lenoir Rhyne University, have accepted invitations to join us as leaders of this event. 

The planning team would appreciate it if this event can be shared with current candidates and Deacons that serve in various capacities across Region 9.  We also appreciate your support and prayers as we gather together, learning to move forward in Christ together.
