The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) is the church to which the Southeastern Synod and its 160 congregations and new starts belong. We are the church that shares a living, daring confidence in God's grace. Liberated by our faith, we embrace you as a whole person--questions, complexities and all.
Lutheran Services of Georgia (LSG) guides individuals and families on a path from surviving to thriving. In partnership with faith communities, LSG empowers those whose lives have been disrupted to discover their strengths and resilience, walking alongside them as they grow into vibrant contributors to their community. They carry out that work in four distinct areas: disability services, children and family services, refugee and immigration services, and disaster response.
The James R. Crumley Jr. Archives offers a variety of services in keeping with our mission of preserving historic records, providing access to them, and supporting our congregations and other ministries in their own local archives work.
Lutheran Disaster Response (LDR) brings God’s hope, healing and renewal to people whose lives have been disrupted by disasters in the United States and around the world. When the dust settles and the headlines change, we stay to provide ongoing assistance to those in need. In close partnership with LDR and LSG, the Southeastern Synod Disaster Ministry Committee coordinates the work of disaster preparedness in response here in the Southeastern Synod and around the world.
The Lutheran Theological Center in Atlanta (LTCA) develops, forms and accompanies leaders who will understand, contribute to and succeed in multicultural societies and thus make the world a better and more just place. LTCA offers graduate level core Lutheran Studies courses including Lutheran Confessions, History of Lutherans in America, Lutheran Parish Preaching, Lutheran Worship and the Lectionary, as well as a course called Science and Faith-A Lutheran Perspective. LTCA also offers continuing education for rostered ministers and lay members of congregations.
Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary (LTSS) is one of seven ELCA seminaries. Through its mission to teach, form, and nurture women and men for public ministry in a context that is Christ-centered, faithfully Lutheran and ecumenically committed, LTSS partners with the Southeastern Synod in forming leaders for ELCA, here in our synod and across the church. Through the Lutheran Formation Experience (LFE), LTSS and the Southeastern Synod have created a unique opportunity to enable students from non-ELCA seminaries to complete candidacy requirements here in our synod.
When you invest with the Mission Investment Fund you help advance the ministry of our church, even as you save for your future. That’s because MIF uses the money you invest to fund building and renovation loans for ELCA congregations and ministries. MIF specializes in church building projects, so they understand the unique needs of congregations and ministries. They provide special expertise in church building and fundraising and offer competitive rates and terms. But the most beautiful part of borrowing with MIF is knowing that the interest you pay on your loan helps fund the loans of other ELCA congregations, so that they can share God’s love, too.
