Bishop Strickland Responds to Mass Shooting in Atlanta - May 3, 2023

A message from Bishop Strickland in response to the May 3, 2023, mass shooting in Atlanta: 

My heart aches for the victims and their families affected by this senseless act of violence. We stand in solidarity with our community during this difficult time, and we offer our prayers and support to all those affected by this tragedy.

While we mourn the loss of innocent lives, we must also take action to prevent these tragedies from happening again. We must work together to promote peace, to foster understanding, and to address the root causes of violence in our society, specifically gun violence and mental illness. 

As we come together to grieve and to heal, we remember that we are all called to love and support one another as we strive to build a more peaceful and just world for all.
