Disaster Response Update - September 22

September 22, 2020

Southeastern Synod Disaster Ministry Committee is currently working in partnership with Inspiritus’ Disaster Team to provide assistance in the aftermath of Hurricane Sally.  We are grateful for the leadership of Pastor Hope Knobler, who serves Grace Lutheran Church in Gulf Shores.  The people of Grace and Pastor Knobler are offering assistance in food distribution, working with Inspiritus to determine homes in need of tree removal and providing relief for those whose lives have been upended by Hurricane Sally.  Currently the greatest need is financial and if you give to the Southeastern Synod Disaster Relief these funds will assist our team in purchasing gas, supplies and other resources on the Alabama coast or you can give to Inspiritus’ here

We are also looking for general volunteers (who will abide by COVID-19 Guidelines) that can help mucking out, general clean up and especially those who have trucks that can help distribute food within the community.  We have secured housing if you are able to volunteer.  Please contact Pastor Jill Henning at jhenning@elca-ses.org if you are able to volunteer.  Please consider making a financial donation to assist us in our relief efforts.
