$90K distributed within our synod: Together, the ELCA has raised a total of $1,157,500 through the COVID-19 Response Fund to address COVID-19 related needs throughout this church. Our Synod has been the recipient of this generosity from across the ELCA. When combined with funds from our Strategic Initiative Fund, we have now distributed $90,000 to congregations in our synod. Thanks be to God!

Where does my offering go? More places that you know! Check out the short video and share it with your congregation.

Advent devotions on abundance: Consider using “Celebrating Abundance”. This powerful devotional by best-selling author Walter Brueggemann includes daily reflections on the Scriptures and stories of Advent in order to invite us to see beyond the world's faux extravagance and realize the true feast laid out before us. Twelve prayers are also included for the twelve days of Christmas. Also check out Brueggemann’s article The Liturgy of Abundance, The Myth of Scarcity. It’s a bit deeper dive and is excellent.

Abundance Symposium: Friday, January 29, 2021 from 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM EST over ZOOM. Join Rev. Mike Ward, Certified Fund-Raising Executive (CFRE) and author of "Abundance: Creating a Culture of Generosity" for a practical, deep dive into how to develop and live into a culture of abundance in your congregation.  In addition to Mike, you will hear from young pastors who are implementing this culture and experienced pastors who have adjusted their ministry to more effectively develop generosity in their congregations. This conference will leave you feeling that stewardship is significant ministry and is far more about the hearts of your members and the impact of what God is up to in your setting than it is about money. The symposium is sponsored by a Lilly grant and is free for all attendees. Register here.
