Pastor Matt Steinhauer earned a Bachelor of Science in Liberal Studies from Belmont University in 2001, was certified in Youth and Family Ministries through Wartburg Theological Seminary in 2004, received his Certification in Theological Education for Emerging Ministries from Wartburg Theological Seminary in Dubuque, IA, in 2010, and a Certification in Spiritual Direction from David Lipscomb University in 2017.
Pastor Steinhauer served St. Timothy Lutheran in Hendersonville, TN, as Director of Christian Ed. and Family Life from 2004-2010. He was ordained in 2011, when he was called as Pastor of Faith Lutheran Church in Lebanon, TN. Pastor Steinhauer has worked in the leadership of the Southeastern Synod youth event, AFFIRM, since 2004; has been the Healthcare Ready Bench for Tennessee, served on the Synod Policy Council, and currently serves as Recorder on the Synod Disaster Recovery Committee, and serves on the Synod Personnel Committee. His community involvement includes serving as a volunteer chaplain at Vanderbilt Wilson County Hospital, and on the Board of Trustees for PEER Place, a day program for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Prior to his working in the church Pastor Steinhauer spent twenty years in sales, management and training in the supplemental life and health insurance business.
Pastor Steinhauer lives in Hendersonville, TN. He and his wife, Leann, have three adult children and three grandchildren. Sailing, writing, and music take up most of his free time.
