Meals on Wheels "Thanksgiving Edition" in Macon, GA

December 2, 2019

The people and neighbors of The Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, Macon, GA, worked together to spread the Thanksgiving spirit!   The saints of Redeemer regularly serve the people of Macon, GA, by providing an ongoing food pantry, but on Thanksgiving Day 2019, they prepared over 70 meals for the Meals on Wheels program.  Leftover food went to the Rescue Mission of Middle Georgia.   In all, over 170 meals were prepared through the efforts of the saints of Redeemer, through the food pantry and the Meals on Wheels project.

Here is a link to a wonderful video and article from a local news station that covered the story of the Thanksgiving meal distribution.

On Sunday, December 1, 2019, the campus missioner and some students of ELF (the joint Episcopal-Lutheran campus ministry in Macon, GA; the Episcopal-Lutheran Fellowship) received "cram" bags.  These bags are filled with some stress-relieving snacks for the college students as they start cramming for finals and finishing up projects and papers.  Items for the cram bags were donated by members of Redeemer.  Here is a picture of the students and the Campus Missioner (Dena Hobbs) receiving the bags, while Pr. Andrew Lewis (Pastor of Lutheran Church of the Redeemer) and Pr. Michael Jannett (Assistant to the Bishop for Formation and Communication) bless the students and distribute the cram bags.
